PA STERLING — Sterling Township Board of Supervisors authorizes court petition for butcher-shop nuisance abatement. With Supervisors Timothy Tuite and Roger Swingle voting unanimously (Supervisor Aaron Henneforth absent), Solicitor Jeff Treat was authorized to file a petition declaring and abating a nuisance at a butcher shop on Callapoose Road. The action followed discussion with neighbors Mr. and Mrs.
Propst and Mr. and Mrs. Zeiler about waste handling and environmental concerns. Abatement measures required by the petition include frequent waste pickup, sealed and covered storage on a sanitizable concrete pad, township inspection rights, prohibition on dumping into waterways, and soil and water sampling.
